Managing Waste Collection Operations Level 4

Suitable for

All employees working within the public, private and community collection sector who have responsibility for managing operations.

Description

QSP provides this NVQ award which is assessed to a national standard to assist employees to develop all the necessary skills to perform their role effectively. The award allows employees the opportunity to select units which reflect their responsibilities within the organisation.

Method of Delivery

Practical assessment of candidates' on-site competence, observed by a qualified and experienced Awarding Body approved Assessor*.

Recognition

On successful completion of this qualification candidates receive an NVQ Certificate of Achievement along with their portfolio which has recorded their achievement to keep as reference.

To achieve the award, the candidate will need to complete 10 Mandatory units demonstrating that they are competent to:

• Control the collection of wastes
• Ensure compliance with operating procedure
• Maintain effective response to waste collection emergencies
• Control working operations for waste collection and transport
• Control the improvements in waste collection operations
• Ensure protection of the environment in waste collection
• Recommend, monitor and control the use of resources on waste management sites
• Provide personnel for waste management sites
• Create and maintain effective working relationships on waste management sites
• Seek evaluate and organise information to support decision making on waste management sites

In addition candidates will have to choose 3 optional units from an accredited list.
